Let’s walk the walk and make a positive difference together.
Register to take part and boost the wellbeing of hospitality people
Since 2020, this industry-wide 20km initiative has seen thousands of hospitality people across the UK champion wellbeing and raise over £200,000 for Hospitality Action.
Walk for Wellbeing is so much more than a fundraising walk.
When you support Walk for Wellbeing, you’re promoting the importance of better mental health and wellbeing for everyone in hospitality whilst raising funds to power the vital work of Hospitality Action.
How can you get involved in 2024?
Walk for Wellbeing is an accessible, meaningful CSR activity. Take part as a workplace team, as an individual, or with friends and family - choose an approach that best suits you!
Just register to walk, free of charge, and access a bespoke fundraising page.
Join the hosted walks across the UK on Sunday 13 October, or walk it your way by walking any distance, in any location, any time from Thursday 10 October (World Mental Health Day) to Sunday 27 October 2024.
What are the benefits of taking part in Walk for Wellbeing?
Everyone involved will be fundraising for Hospitality Action and promoting the importance of wellbeing in hospitality, plus boosting their own mental and physical wellbeing in the process.
For workplace teams, the event also provides a chance to develop teamwork skills, build stronger workplace relationships and promote an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Join the Manchester walk on Sunday 13 October hosted by The Manchester Hoteliers Association.
Starting at 10am with registration at 9.30am, this 20km accessible walk will start in Sale Water Park at the Trafford Watersports Centre car park (the last car park along the entry road).
The waterside route takes in two water parks, the river Mersey and sections of the Trans Pennine trail. Download the map here. At the end of the walk, enjoy a toast at the Boathouse within the water park to celebrate the success!
20km is a significant distance, so come prepared to make the most of your day. Pack water bottles and snacks, wear suitable shoes and clothing (check the weather!) and have emergency contact details to hand.
Help is where Hospitality Action is.
With mental health issues, the cost-of-living crisis and fear of homelessness at an all-time high, the money Walk for Wellbeing raises will help:
• Support the one in two people with mental health issues that contact Hospitality Action for support
• Deliver in-person and phone counselling sessions
• Provide emergency grants to put food on the table
